From fixing point to handrail: how we approach it
In areas such as Sants, Sants - Badal and Hostafrancs, railing sections rarely fit whole into a small lift or a narrow stairwell. We order them in pieces that can be carried up by hand and joined on site, and for communal stairs we agree design and working hours with the residents' association.
On staircases in homes in areas such as La Bordeta and La Font de la Guatlla we measure every flight and landing, as the pitch is rarely the same all the way up. The handrail follows the slope without steps and the ends are rounded so nothing catches on them.
After the visit and written quote we install the railing with floors and façade protected, then push-test it before we leave. We also cover the surrounding area: Eixample, Les Corts and Ciutat Vella.

Frequently asked questions
01Railing installation in Sants-Montjuïc: which areas do you cover?
We work in Sants-Montjuïc in areas such as Sants, Sants - Badal, Hostafrancs, La Bordeta, La Font de la Guatlla, El Poble-sec, La Marina de Port and La Marina del Prat Vermell, and also nearby: Eixample, Les Corts and Ciutat Vella.
02How high does a railing need to be?
The CTE sets the minimum height according to the drop and limits the gap between balusters so a child's head cannot pass through. At the visit we measure the drop and design the railing to those dimensions.
03Is a glass balustrade safe?
Yes, when it is made with laminated safety glass and properly fixed to the slab. If a pane breaks, the fragments stay bonded to the interlayer.
04Can a balcony railing be replaced without lifting the floor?
It depends on the existing fixings. If the base is sound, we reuse the same points or fix to the edge of the slab; if it is rusted or cracked, we repair it before fitting the new railing.
