What we look at before the first tile goes down
In early 20th-century buildings in areas such as El Clot and El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot the original floor is often encaustic tile or terrazzo on timber or shallow-vault floors that flex slightly. Before laying porcelain we check how rigid the base is and, if needed, use an uncoupling membrane.
We draw the layout before cutting: in flats and houses in areas such as El Poblenou, El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou and La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou we aim for full tiles in the middle of the room and cuts along walls and units, with joints lined up through doorways.
The site manager schedules removal, levelling and tiling room by room, and we leave the floor free of cement and dust. You will also find us nearby: Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sant Andreu.

Frequently asked questions
01Porcelain floor tiling in Sant Martí: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Sant Martí, in areas such as El Clot, El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot, El Poblenou, El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou, La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou, Diagonal Mar i el Front Marítim del Poblenou, Provençals del Poblenou and Sant Martí de Provençals, and also nearby: Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sant Andreu. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02Can porcelain go over the old floor?
Often, yes, if the current floor is solid and flat. Door heights and thresholds with other rooms need checking, and we look at both during the visit.
03What does large-format porcelain need?
A very flat base, double-spread adhesive and levelling clips. Big tiles mean fewer joints, but the setting out and cutting have to be more precise.
04Can the same tile run from the living room to the terrace?
Only if the range has an outdoor non-slip version with the slip rating the CTE requires. Many collections offer both, so the floor can flow outside.
