Pocket or exposed track: how we choose
In older flats in areas such as El Clot and El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot, hallways are long and narrow and hinged doors clash with one another. Many walls are load-bearing and cannot be hollowed out; there we suggest a sliding door on an exposed track that runs in front of the wall.
In areas such as El Poblenou, El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou and La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou we fit exposed sliders on a track fixed to the wall with plugs suited to the substrate, and make sure the leaf overlaps the opening on both sides so no light shows. Stops and soft-close are adjusted last, with the leaf hung.
