When is a lifeline needed?

  • Roof with no anchor points
  • Solar panels or plant on the roof
  • Maintenance with a risk of falling
  • Old or uninspected lifeline

What the installation includes

  • Roof survey

We assess the substrate, the routes and who will use the system.

  • Horizontal lifeline

Stainless steel cable with posts and a tensioner along the roof.

  • Single anchor points

Fixed points for rope access on the façade or areas with no continuous line.

  • Vertical lifeline

For fixed ladders and vertical access to the roof.

  • Leak-free fixing

Chemical or mechanical anchors to suit the substrate, with the waterproofing resealed.

  • Testing and instructions

Load test on the anchors, identification plate and user instructions.

From flat roof to pitched roof: where each anchor goes

In buildings in areas such as El Clot and El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot, the roof is usually a walkable flat terrace with low parapets, chimneys and aerials. We fix the posts without piercing the waterproof membrane, or reseal it where we must, and agree access via the stairs and working hours with the residents' association.

For buildings in areas such as El Poblenou, El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou and La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou we agree with the property manager or owners who will use the line and how many people at once. That sets the spans, intermediate posts and energy absorber, and we leave a plate at the access point with the user instructions.

A site manager coordinates the installation with the residents or owners and leaves the roof clean; before that come the visit and a detailed written quote. We also install lifelines nearby: Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sant Andreu.

Frequently asked questions

01

Lifeline and anchor installation in Sant Martí: which areas do you cover?

We do this work in Sant Martí, in areas such as El Clot, El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot, El Poblenou, El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou, La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou, Diagonal Mar i el Front Marítim del Poblenou, Provençals del Poblenou and Sant Martí de Provençals, and also nearby: Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sant Andreu. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.

02

What is the difference between a lifeline and a single anchor?

A lifeline is a continuous cable that lets you move across the roof without unclipping. A single anchor is a fixed point to attach to in one specific spot, as in façade work.

03

Does a lifeline need inspecting after installation?

Yes. Manufacturers call for periodic inspection, usually once a year, and always after a fall. We can take care of those inspections.

04

Can it be fitted on a tiled or metal roof?

Yes. We use posts and fixings designed for each roof type, whether flat, tiled, metal sheet or sandwich panel, and seal every penetration to keep water out.
