Before the frame goes up: what we check
In older buildings in areas such as El Clot and El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot ceilings are often over three metres high, with cornices, shallow brick vaults or reed-and-plaster ceilings that crack. A suspended ceiling lowers bathrooms and hallways, while the original ceiling can stay in the living room.
Hangers are anchored to the slab with fixings suited to each type of floor, which matters in buildings in areas such as El Poblenou, El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou and La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou with clay block slabs. The main and cross channels then go up at the spacing the board requires.
A site manager coordinates the trades whose services run through the ceiling, and when we finish we clear offcuts and board dust. This work also takes us nearby: Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sant Andreu.

Frequently asked questions
01Suspended ceiling installation in Sant Martí: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Sant Martí, in areas such as El Clot, El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot, El Poblenou, El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou, La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou, Diagonal Mar i el Front Marítim del Poblenou, Provençals del Poblenou and Sant Martí de Provençals, and also nearby: Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sant Andreu. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02Will a suspended ceiling make the room feel lower?
It depends on what needs hiding. It takes some height: a flat ceiling with recessed spotlights usually needs 8–10 cm; air-conditioning ducts need a deeper void. We measure it during the visit.
03Can a suspended ceiling go in a bathroom?
Yes, using moisture-resistant board and a hatch if there is an extractor fan or valves above. The ceiling copes with humidity and stays accessible.
04What is the difference between a plasterboard and a grid ceiling?
Plasterboard gives a seamless finish and is the usual choice in homes. A grid ceiling has removable tiles on a visible frame and suits premises with lots of services above.
