What shapes the design of a bespoke piece
Early 20th-century flats have alcoves, high ceilings and walls out of plumb, exactly where a standard unit leaves gaps. We build floor-to-ceiling bookcases with scribing pieces trimmed on site against walls and mouldings (typical of areas such as El Clot and El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot).
We use lacquered MDF for painted pieces, natural veneer for a timber look and solid wood where there is wear, such as desk tops or seats. In bathrooms and beside windows we use moisture-resistant board.
