Underfloor heating in Nou Barris: height, structure and equipment
In older buildings in areas such as Porta, Vilapicina i la Torre Llobeta and El Turó de la Peira, many floors are built on beams with infill vaults and should not carry a thick screed. There we suggest low-profile systems or a thin self-levelling screed, adding less weight and less height.
In homes in areas such as La Prosperitat, Verdun and Les Roquetes we start with the perimeter strip and insulation boards, with no gaps between them. On top we lay the pipe in a spiral, closer together near large windows and outside walls, where the home loses most heat.
