Fitting a kitchen in Nou Barris: what we check first
In older buildings in areas such as Porta, Vilapicina i la Torre Llobeta and El Turó de la Peira kitchen walls are usually solid brick or thin hollow-tile partitions, and each needs a different fixing for wall units. We check before hanging anything, and carry assembled units up the stairs if the lift is small.
On kitchens we fit in areas such as La Prosperitat, Verdun and Les Roquetes we start with a laser level line at base-unit height and another for the wall units. The tall unit or corner goes in first to set the position of the rest, and units are joined together before being fixed.
More than 20 years fitting kitchens means we spot problems on the visit; the quote comes in writing and a site manager coordinates fitter, plumber and electrician. We also cover nearby areas: Horta-Guinardó, Sant Andreu and Montcada i Reixac.
