How we reseal façade joints in Les Corts
In areas such as Les Corts and La Maternitat i Sant Ramon, older residential buildings sit alongside newer offices with curtain walling. On the former we seal frame-to-stone junctions, on the latter the joints between glazing and mullions, always within the hours set by the building.
On each joint in buildings in areas such as Pedralbes and Zona Universitària, we cut out the old sealant with a blade, clean the edges back to a sound surface and check the joint is dry. New sealant will not bond to dust or old residue.

04Why not just apply new sealant over the old?
Because new sealant does not bond well to old sealant or dust. The old one has to be removed, the edges cleaned, a backer rod fitted and primer applied; that way the joint can move without opening again.
