Renovating a living room in Horta-Guinardó: where we start
In 1960s and 70s flats in areas such as El Baix Guinardó, El Guinardó and Can Baró the living room is often closed off from the kitchen by a partition and has a single aerial socket. Before taking a wall down we check it is not load-bearing, and we tell the community of owners when the noisiest work is due.
The first step in living rooms in areas such as El Carmel and La Teixonera is chases and the false ceiling: that is where lighting circuits, data points and, if needed, air-conditioning ducts go. Only then do we build the TV wall and lay the floor.
While the work is under way we close off the living room with sheeting so dust does not reach the rest of the home, and hand it over clean, ready for the furniture. We renovate living rooms nearby too: Gràcia, Nou Barris and Sant Andreu.

Frequently asked questions
01Living room renovation in Horta-Guinardó: which areas do you cover?
We work in Horta-Guinardó in areas such as El Baix Guinardó, El Guinardó, Can Baró, El Carmel, La Teixonera, Horta, La Clota and La Font d'en Fargues, and also nearby: Gràcia, Nou Barris and Sant Andreu.
02How are the TV and equipment cables hidden?
We run concealed conduit from the outlet to the unit or build a plasterboard lining with niches, so only the screen is visible.
