Laminate flooring in Horta-Guinardó: what we lay it over
In older buildings in areas such as El Baix Guinardó, El Guinardó and Can Baró encaustic tile floors often have loose pieces and uneven patches. Before laying laminate we fix or remove anything that moves and level with compound, since a click system needs a flat base.
In flats in areas such as El Carmel and La Teixonera we start by running a long straightedge over the whole floor: sunken joints and high spots are corrected with levelling compound, as laminate on an uneven base ends up creaking and opening at the joints.
