What we calculate before replacing a radiator
1960s and 70s flats in areas such as La Vila de Gràcia and El Camp d'en Grassot i Gràcia Nova usually have a wall-hung boiler in the kitchen or utility gallery and exposed copper pipes along the skirting. We reuse sound connections, replace old valves and, if a radiator moves, route the pipe the most discreet way.
In houses in areas such as La Salut, El Coll and Vallcarca i els Penitents, we put thermostatic valves in the rooms and a lockshield on each return. In the room with the wall thermostat we leave a manual valve, so the two controls don't work against each other.
