What we look at before the first tile goes down
In 1960s and 70s flats in areas such as La Vila de Gràcia and El Camp d'en Grassot i Gràcia Nova terrazzo is the norm and is often sound. If the doors allow, we tile over it instead of breaking it up: less rubble carried down a narrow staircase and less noise for the neighbours.
With large formats, increasingly requested in areas such as La Salut, El Coll and Vallcarca i els Penitents, adhesive goes on both the floor and the back of the tile, and we use levelling clips. That leaves no voids underneath and no lipping between neighbouring tiles.
The site manager schedules removal, levelling and tiling room by room, and we leave the floor free of cement and dust. You will also find us nearby: Eixample, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Horta-Guinardó.

Frequently asked questions
01Porcelain floor tiling in Gràcia: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Gràcia, in areas such as La Vila de Gràcia, El Camp d'en Grassot i Gràcia Nova, La Salut, El Coll and Vallcarca i els Penitents, and also nearby: Eixample, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Horta-Guinardó. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02Can porcelain go over the old floor?
Often, yes, if the current floor is solid and flat. Door heights and thresholds with other rooms need checking, and we look at both during the visit.
03What does large-format porcelain need?
A very flat base, double-spread adhesive and levelling clips. Big tiles mean fewer joints, but the setting out and cutting have to be more precise.
04Can the same tile run from the living room to the terrace?
Only if the range has an outdoor non-slip version with the slip rating the CTE requires. Many collections offer both, so the floor can flow outside.
