What we check before the first plank clicks in
In older buildings in areas such as La Vila de Gràcia and El Camp d'en Grassot i Gràcia Nova encaustic tile floors often have loose pieces and uneven patches. Before laying laminate we fix or remove anything that moves and level with compound, since a click system needs a flat base.
At every door in homes in areas such as La Salut, El Coll and Vallcarca i els Penitents we measure the clearance and trim the leaf if it catches. Junctions with bathrooms, kitchens or terraces get transition profiles, and the laminate is never trapped under door frames.
The site manager plans clearing the rooms in turn, and when we finish we vacuum and take away packaging and offcuts. We lay laminate in the surrounding areas too: Eixample, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Horta-Guinardó.

Frequently asked questions
01Laminate flooring installation in Gràcia: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Gràcia, in areas such as La Vila de Gràcia, El Camp d'en Grassot i Gràcia Nova, La Salut, El Coll and Vallcarca i els Penitents, and also nearby: Eixample, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Horta-Guinardó. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02Can laminate go over existing tiles?
Yes, if the tiles are sound and the floor is flat. It sits on an underlay, so nothing needs breaking up; the floor rises slightly and doors sometimes need trimming.
03Which laminate works in a kitchen or bathroom?
One with a water-resistant core and sealed joints. Even so, next to the shower or bath we recommend porcelain tiles.
04What does the AC rating mean?
It shows wear resistance. AC4 is usually enough for a home; shops and busy areas are better with AC5.
