Radiators in the Eixample: from cast iron to aluminium
Older buildings in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample still have very heavy cast-iron radiators in high-ceilinged rooms. We carry them down the stairs without knocking the banisters and fit lighter units in their place, sized for that volume of air.
New radiators rarely have the same pipe centres as the old ones. In flats in areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, we adapt the pipework with transition fittings or choose models that fit, so we don't chase walls unless we have to.
A site manager organises draining, fitting and commissioning, and when we finish we take the old radiators away and leave the rooms clean. We also work nearby: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.

04Does the wall need opening up?
Usually not: we reuse the existing connections. We only open the wall if a radiator moves or the new one has a different distance between tappings.
