Worktops in the Eixample: what we check before measuring
In older buildings in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, a one-piece quartz or porcelain worktop will not always go up the stairs or fit in the lift. We measure the route from the street door and, if needed, put the joint at the corner or beside the hob, where it barely shows.
Quartz and porcelain weigh far more than laminate. In kitchens in areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, we check the unit sides and legs, add bracing where needed and, with thin porcelain, leave continuous support under the whole piece.
