Entrance halls in the Eixample: what we find and what we change
In early 20th-century buildings in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample the entrance is often a long, high-ceilinged corridor with mouldings and hydraulic floor tiles that are sometimes worth keeping. Where changes are needed we touch only what we must and keep to the building's working hours.
For the hall floor, in flats and houses in areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni we recommend porcelain tiles or AC5 laminate, which cope with grit and wet shoes. We handle the junction with the rest of the home with a flush profile or by running the same material through.
After the visit we send an itemised quote; during the work we protect the floors in the rest of the home, and at the end we leave the hall clean and the doors adjusted. We also work nearby: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.

Frequently asked questions
01Entrance hall renovation in the Eixample: which areas do you cover?
We work in the Eixample in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample, Sant Antoni, La Sagrada Família and El Fort Pienc, and also nearby: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.
02Can the entrance hall be opened up to the living room?
Yes, if the partition is not load-bearing. During the visit we check the structure and any services running through it, and suggest opening it fully or with an archway or glazed screen.
03Which floor works best by the front door?
One that copes with grit, wet shoes and scuffs: porcelain tiles or high-resistance laminate. We take care of the transition with the rest of the flooring so there are no steps.
04Will a wardrobe fit in a narrow hall?
Often, yes: a shallow shoe unit, sliding doors or a wall-hung cabinet that keeps the floor clear. We design it to fit the space exactly.
