Mechanical ventilation in the Eixample: what we find in homes
In areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, many flats have bedrooms that open only onto a light well and kitchens with no direct outlet. Once the windows are replaced with airtight ones, moisture stays inside, so we agree with the residents' association where the air intakes can go without touching the main façade.
For flats in areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni we find the heat recovery unit an accessible spot, be it the bathroom ceiling void, the utility gallery or a cupboard, so filters can be changed without dismantling anything. We connect the condensate drain and fit anti-vibration mounts.
With over 20 years in renovation work, we plan the ventilation at a site visit and set it out in writing, item by item. We work in the surrounding areas too: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.

Frequently asked questions
01Mechanical ventilation installation in the Eixample: which areas do you cover?
We work in the Eixample in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample, Sant Antoni, La Sagrada Família and El Fort Pienc, and also nearby: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.
02What is the difference between single-flow and balanced systems?
A single-flow system extracts air from the kitchen and bathrooms, and fresh air comes in through trickle vents in the windows. A balanced system supplies and extracts through ducts and, with heat recovery, reuses the warmth of the outgoing air.
03Is mechanical ventilation noisy?
Properly sized, it runs at low speed and is barely audible. We place the unit away from the bedrooms and use suitable ducts and silencers.
04Will I still need to open the windows?
Not to renew the air: the system does that continuously. You can open them whenever you like, but you no longer depend on it.
