Lifelines in the Eixample: what the roofs are like
In buildings in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, the roof is usually a walkable flat terrace with low parapets, chimneys and aerials. We fix the posts without piercing the waterproof membrane, or reseal it where we must, and agree access via the stairs and working hours with the residents' association.
For buildings in areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni we agree with the property manager or owners who will use the line and how many people at once. That sets the spans, intermediate posts and energy absorber, and we leave a plate at the access point with the user instructions.
A site manager coordinates the installation with the residents or owners and leaves the roof clean; before that come the visit and a detailed written quote. We also install lifelines nearby: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.

Frequently asked questions
01Lifeline and anchor installation in the Eixample: which areas do you cover?
We work in the Eixample in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample, Sant Antoni, La Sagrada Família and El Fort Pienc, and also nearby: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.
02What is the difference between a lifeline and a single anchor?
A lifeline is a continuous cable that lets you move across the roof without unclipping. A single anchor is a fixed point to attach to in one specific spot, as in façade work.
03Does a lifeline need inspecting after installation?
Yes. Manufacturers call for periodic inspection, usually once a year, and always after a fall. We can take care of those inspections.
04Can it be fitted on a tiled or metal roof?
Yes. We use posts and fixings designed for each roof type, whether flat, tiled, metal sheet or sandwich panel, and seal every penetration to keep water out.
