Wall-hung toilets in the Eixample: what lies behind the wall
In older buildings in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, bathroom partitions are often thin brick, ill-suited to housing a cistern. We usually fix the frame to the floor and close it in with moisture-resistant board in front, without weakening the wall.
In homes in areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, we connect the waste with a PVC bend of the size the pan needs and check the fall to the stack. Before closing up we run a water test and leave the supply with its stop valve inside the frame.
