Sinks and taps in the Eixample: what we find under the unit
In kitchens in older buildings in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, we sometimes find lead or iron pipe under the sink and valves that no longer close. When replacing the set we fit new isolation valves and the right transition fittings, without straining the old pipework.
For undermount sinks in homes in areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, we fix the bowl to the stone or porcelain with clips and adhesive and seal the joint from below. The cut-out edge is polished, with no lip for dirt to collect.
We take away the old sink, packaging and silicone scraps and leave the kitchen tidy. A site manager coordinates the work, and we also cover nearby areas: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.

02Can I have an undermount sink in my kitchen?
It depends on the worktop. In stone, quartz or porcelain, yes, with a polished edge; in laminate it is not usually advisable, as the exposed chipboard core soaks up water.
03Can I switch to a larger sink?
If the base unit allows it, we enlarge the cut-out in the worktop. We check by measuring the unit and the clearance to the hob.
04Can you fit a three-way tap for filtered water?
Yes, if there is room in the base unit for the filter or system. We connect the tap to the mains and to the filter with separate supplies.
