Ducts up the façade in the Eixample: how we plan the route
In areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, many ground-floor shops in older buildings have no flue of their own, and the duct has to run up the light well or rear façade to the roof terrace. We plan the route with the residents' association and work on ropes, with no scaffolding in a narrow well.
Working on ropes in areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, we first fix brackets and clamps at regular intervals, then raise the sections from the bottom up, fitting and sealing each joint. The duct ends up straight, free of vibration and with no drips at the joints.
