Gotelé in the Eixample: which type it is and how we remove it
In areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample many 1960s and 70s buildings still have the original distemper gotelé, often under several coats of emulsion. We test each room, because one flat can have areas that scrape off and others that are better covered.
In areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni we apply skim filler in successive thin coats, letting each one dry, until the texture is fully covered. Corners are reinforced with beading so the edges stay straight.
