- Bath to shower
Bath-to-shower conversion in the Eixample.
In the Eixample we turn the bath recess into a comfortable, safe shower: a non-slip tray, a screen that keeps splashes in and, if you need one, a grab rail.
5/5 · Google reviewsWhen does swapping the bath for a shower make sense?
- Stepping over the edge is hard
- You hardly ever use the bath
- Worn or rusty enamel
- The curtain leaves a wet floor

Membrane under the tray
We waterproof the base and take the membrane up the shower walls.

-
Wall made good
We close the front with matching tiles, a wall panel or new tiling.

Bath-to-shower conversions in the Eixample: what we usually find
In older flats in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample the bath is often heavy cast iron and the waste runs to a shared soil stack with little fall. We cut it up inside the bathroom to carry it down the stairs without damaging common areas, and check how low the tray can sit.
In bathrooms in areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni the waterproof membrane is the key element: it covers the whole base, runs up the shower walls and overlaps the waste so no leak reaches the flat below. We bed the tray on it with mortar or adhesive and level it with just the right fall.
Send us a photo of the bath and we will arrange a visit to check the waste and walls; you then receive a written quote with tray, screen and labour listed separately. We also convert baths in nearby areas: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.

Frequently asked questions
01Bath-to-shower conversion in the Eixample: which areas do you cover?
We work in the Eixample in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample, Sant Antoni, La Sagrada Família and El Fort Pienc, and also nearby: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.
02Do all the bathroom tiles have to come off?
No. We remove the band of tiles around the bath and the panel at the front; the rest of the room stays if it is in good condition.
03Can the tray sit flush with the floor?
It depends on the height of the waste and the floor slab. On the visit we check whether a flush fit is possible or a low-profile tray on the floor is wiser.
04Which tray suits older people?
One with a very low edge, a non-slip surface and room for a grab rail or fold-down seat fixed to a solid wall.
