Bathroom tiles in the Eixample: where we start from
In older buildings in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample and L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample bathroom walls are rarely plumb: thin brick partitions, uneven render and tiles bedded on dabs of mortar that sound hollow. Before tiling we true up the surface so the new tiles sit flat.
With large-format tiles, common in bathrooms in areas such as La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, we back-butter each piece with C2 adhesive and use levelling clips to avoid lipping between tiles. Before we start, we check the wall with a straightedge.
After the visit we send an itemised quote, with removal, preparation and tiling listed separately; a site manager coordinates the tiler and the plumber. We also work nearby: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.

01Bathroom tiling in the Eixample: which areas do you cover?
We work in the Eixample in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample, Sant Antoni, La Sagrada Família and El Fort Pienc, and also nearby: Gràcia, Sant Martí and Ciutat Vella.
02Can new tiles go over the old ones?
Sometimes, if the old tiles are firmly bonded and flat, using an adhesive for tile-on-tile. Bear in mind you lose a little space and the edges around doors and windows change.
03Do large-format tiles work in a small bathroom?
Yes, and they often help: fewer grout lines make the room feel bigger. They just need very flat walls and careful setting out of the cuts.
