Mechanical ventilation installation in Ciutat Vella.

We design ventilation for flats and houses in Ciutat Vella so humid air leaves the kitchen and bathrooms on its own and filtered air reaches every room.

When do you need mechanical ventilation?

  • Condensation on the windows
  • Mould in corners and on ceilings
  • New, very airtight windows
  • Stuffy air in the morning

What mechanical ventilation includes

  • Airflow design

Air in and out of each room, calculated to CTE DB HS 3.

  • Heat recovery unit

Renews the air while recovering the warmth of the air going out.

  • Supply and extract

Fresh air to living areas and bedrooms, extraction from kitchen and bathrooms.

  • Air filters

Trap dust and pollen before the air comes into the home.

  • Vents and grilles

Discreet, set into the ceiling or wall and easy to clean.

  • Controls and sensors

Adjustable speeds and modes, with a humidity sensor if you want one.

Renewing the air in a home in Ciutat Vella

In early 20th-century blocks and 1960s–70s buildings in areas such as El Barri Gòtic and El Raval, ceiling height is tight for a false ceiling. We route the ducts along the hallway and over the bathrooms, where a lower ceiling is barely noticed, and carry the unit up the shared stairs within the building's working hours.

Where there is no room for ductwork in areas such as Sant Pere, Santa Caterina and La Ribera, we propose single flow: a continuous humidity-controlled extractor in the kitchen and bathrooms and trickle vents in the windows. Finally we measure the airflow at each vent and set the controls, with a humidity or CO2 sensor if you wish.

We visit the property, measure the rooms and give you a detailed written quote; a site manager coordinates the installation and we leave everything clean. We also install ventilation in nearby areas: Eixample, Sants-Montjuïc and Sant Martí.

Frequently asked questions

01

Mechanical ventilation installation in Ciutat Vella: which areas do you cover?

We do this work in Ciutat Vella, in areas such as El Barri Gòtic, El Raval, Sant Pere, Santa Caterina, La Ribera and La Barceloneta, and also nearby: Eixample, Sants-Montjuïc and Sant Martí. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.

02

What is the difference between single-flow and balanced systems?

A single-flow system extracts air from the kitchen and bathrooms, and fresh air comes in through trickle vents in the windows. A balanced system supplies and extracts through ducts and, with heat recovery, reuses the warmth of the outgoing air.

03

Is mechanical ventilation noisy?

Properly sized, it runs at low speed and is barely audible. We place the unit away from the bedrooms and use suitable ducts and silencers.

04

Will I still need to open the windows?

Not to renew the air: the system does that continuously. You can open them whenever you like, but you no longer depend on it.
