How we tile a bathroom in Ciutat Vella
In 1960s and 70s flats in areas such as El Barri Gòtic and El Raval it is common to find white 15x15 tiles up to the ceiling and quarry tiles on the floor. Breaking it all out is noisy and creates a lot of rubble, so we schedule it within the building's hours and take it down the stairs in bags.
Finishing makes the difference: in bathrooms in areas such as Sant Pere, Santa Caterina and La Ribera we finish corners with aluminium trim or 45° mitred edges, use mould-resistant grout in the colour you choose and seal around the tray, bath and basin with sanitary silicone.
We come to see the bathroom, measure the surfaces and look at the tiles you like; you then receive a detailed written quote, and at the end we clean off adhesive and dust. We also tile bathrooms in nearby areas: Eixample, Sants-Montjuïc and Sant Martí.

Frequently asked questions
01Bathroom tiling in Ciutat Vella: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Ciutat Vella, in areas such as El Barri Gòtic, El Raval, Sant Pere, Santa Caterina, La Ribera and La Barceloneta, and also nearby: Eixample, Sants-Montjuïc and Sant Martí. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02Can new tiles go over the old ones?
Sometimes, if the old tiles are firmly bonded and flat, using an adhesive for tile-on-tile. Bear in mind you lose a little space and the edges around doors and windows change.
03Do large-format tiles work in a small bathroom?
Yes, and they often help: fewer grout lines make the room feel bigger. They just need very flat walls and careful setting out of the cuts.
