Basements in Badalona: where the damp comes from
Developments have many houses on sloping plots with a semi-basement: one wall is buried and takes water from the hillside. On that wall we reinforce the internal waterproofing and leave a drainage cavity behind the finish (typical of Dalt la Vila, Centre and Progrés).
We start by measuring moisture in the walls and slab to see whether water comes from the ground, a leak or condensation. We then apply waterproof mortar on the inner face and form a fillet where wall meets floor.
