Why showers start to leak
In areas such as Les Ginesteres, Can Raimir and Can Ferreters, where winters can be cold, tiled showers go through temperature swings that open joints and crack the grout. We use a flexible membrane and epoxy grout, which cope with that movement much more readily.
For level-access showers in areas such as El Cros, Sant Miquel del Cros and Sant Jaume de Treià we rebuild the screed with a continuous fall to the drain or linear channel, with no spots where water can sit. The membrane goes under the tile adhesive and bonds to the drain with its own connection collar.
