Terrace enclosures in Abrera: what we measure on the visit
In 1960s to 80s flats in areas such as El Rebato and Can Torres, the enclosure usually sits on the existing balustrade. We check it is firm and well anchored; if not, we replace it with a profile or low wall that can carry the enclosure's weight.
Water gets the most attention: in areas such as Santa Maria de Vilalba, Can Vilalba and Ca n'Amat the bottom track has drainage outlets to the outside and a sill, and the perimeter is sealed against driving rain. Before finishing we wet the enclosure and check that nothing gets through.

Yes. Depending on its condition, the enclosure is fixed on top of the balustrade or the balustrade is replaced by a low wall or bottom profile that acts as a base.
